We live in amazing times. Today's world of photography has never been more convenient or simple. From kindergarten to the elderly, most anyone can take a picture with a cell phone or tablet. Cell phones capturing the Aurora?...who would have ever believed that?! It is indeed a fabulous time to be alive. Humanity can share photos around the world in an instant. Families and friends can even video chat over a phone or tablet now. It has brought all of us closer in an ever changing and sometimes distant world.
Regardless of how technology changes image capturing devices, the core fundamentals of photography never change. Lighting, composition, depth of field (aperture), and shutter speed, will be the timeless pillars from which great photography is derived. When it comes to digital photography, editing softwares and AI (artificial intelligence) have muddy the waters of what used to be sacred ground. We now live in a world where "is that real?" is a natural response. Rest assured, all images on this site ARE REAL and were minimally edited with old software that has no AI in its feature set.
It is my sincere hope that each and every one of you will try a camera to face (immersion photography) experience. For me, it is where the "feel and power" of photography really shines. It is where you literally isolate the world around you to one visual focal point. You will feel you are submersed into the subject or scene. A totally different user experience versus holding a cell phone (or camera) away from your face to capture a subject or scene.
